Job Title: Laser Operator FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Summary The Laser Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal components according to specifications. Key Responsibilities: * Set up and operate laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal according to job specifications. * Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machine settings and material requirements. * Select appropriate cutting programs and adjust machine settings to optimize cutting performance. * Load and unload materials onto the laser machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning. * Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments. * Perform Daily/Weekly preventive maintenance on laser equipment * Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy * Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines. Additional Responsibilities: * Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed. * Maintain neat, clean and orderly warehouse appearance. * Ability to work extended hours/overtime as needed * Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures and guidelines. * Conform to all quality and safety procedures. * Required to operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment. Required Qualifications or Experience: * Minimum of 1 year of experience operating laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment. Preferred but willing to train. * Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers. Preferred but willing to train. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: * Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb and move about the facility * Regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs. * Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, reach & carry.
