POSITION SUMMARY

The Machine Operator on the Midnight Shift is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of injection molding machines and related equipment during overnight production hours. This role involves monitoring machine performance, performing visual quality checks, trimming or packaging parts, and ensuring production targets and quality standards are met.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in plastics or manufacturing an asset, but training will be provided.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight hours.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to working night shifts on a consistent schedule.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and contribute to a team-focused work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Operate injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment according to production schedules.
  • Start, stop, and monitor machines, ensuring proper cycle times, temperatures, and settings are maintained.
  • Conduct regular inspections of parts for defects such as flash, short shots, or discoloration, and remove any non-conforming products.
  • Trim, deburr, assemble, and package molded plastic parts as per work instructions or quality standards.
  • Record production counts and downtime accurately using provided forms or systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and follow all 5S or housekeeping procedures.
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions or quality issues to the supervisor or technician immediately.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental regulations, including proper use of PPE.
