HIGH LEVEL MISSION STATEMENT:  THE MACHINE OPERATOR HAS A FOCUS ON MACHINING COMPONENTS FOR ALL MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS.   HIGH LEVEL STATEMENT OF THE ROLE: MACHINES A WIDE VARIETY OF PARTS THAT MAKE UP THE VARIOUS PRODUCTS WE OFFER IN THE MARKETPLACE.       High Level Roles & Responsibilities: Has the authority, responsibility, and accountability to:   * Operate machines and power equipment according to specific instructions for those machines power equipment. * Manually set up each machine or pull up the computer program in the case of equipment for parts production. * Run material through the machines checking for accuracy and quality. * Perform timely and regular calibrations and perform preventive maintenance on machines you are responsible for. * Ensure that the correct materials are being used for each product component. * Identify and use correct tooling to perform each operation.  * Help ensure that 6S for the area are met. * Participate in continuous improvement activities. * Perform other duties as assigned. * Support the Quality Policy and Safety Policy. * Support the Vision and Guiding Principles of Kimball International and the facility Priorities of Focus and management policies. * * Able to effectively use problem solving skills. * High level of parts knowledge related to area of responsibility. * Understand the effects of the material used on surfaces to be finished. * Able to transport and prepare a wide variety of parts for other operations. * Ability to learn and adapt to new parts and products. * Must be detail oriented.     Qualifications * REQUIREMENTS: * Team Oriented * Strong drive for success. * Customer centric * Possess a high degree of integrity. * Ability to keep humor in the workplace. * Ability to build & sustain relationships. * Flexible and open to change. * Tactful * Assertive * Positive attitude. * Patient * Honest and ethical * Ability to learn and adapt to new situations quickly. * Able to interact with diverse groups of people. * Must have a positive attitude. * Highly motivated and able to work independently * High School Degree or GED * Related manufacturing experience Communication Skills: * Good listener * Effective communication skills * Negotiation skills * Persuasive and credible * Ability to adapt to and manage change. * Good relationship builder * Ability to motivate effectively. * Able to write legibly * Able to read and comprehend required documents. * Able to accomplish required math * Minimum of 4 weeks on the job training
