Description WEEKLY PAY Pay rate: $21.08 hour Shift: Nights 6p to 6a (wk1 SuWTh, wk 2 MTuFSa, repeat) Shift Premium Paid Vacation Paid Sick Days Paid holidays Medical, dental, vision 401k match Annual bonus opportunity PURPOSE OF POSITION: To operate production equipment and ensure quality by checking for non-conforming material. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: Operate the extruder and reactor machines including stocking of lines. Package materials in sacks and bulk, completing required documentation, labels, etc. Perform quality and visual checks, ensuring only quality products are shipped to the customers. Continually monitor product quality, recommend and implement corrective action as needed to keep product running within established specifications. Assist in troubleshooting non-routine or complex equipment problems, identifying and implementing solutions. Provides operational support for trials, scale-ups and specials. Maintain a clean work area, including cleaning, sorting and preparing packaging materials (sacks, pallets, etc.) for reuse. In addition, clean up any other areas affected by work. Participate in multi-disciplinary reviews of manufacturing processes, make recommendations to management for improvements to those processes and determine the need for new equipment. Report/document all production, down time and movement activities in order to ensure QAD business system is accurate to production documentation. Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: High School diploma or GED is required. Basic math skills. Basic computer skills. Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to work with limited supervision and direction. PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS: This position requires the ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing. Must be able to operate a forklift truck, which requires the use of arms and legs, the ability to get onto truck and depth perception to stack and/or move crates or other material. Must have finger dexterity and be able to see and hear. Must be able to climb and work from a ladder. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion. Safety equipment consists of all forms of PPE such as safety glasses, ear plugs and steel-toed shoes. Must be able to come to work as scheduled on a regular basis and be able to work 8 or 12-hour rotating shifts as necessary. Must be able to work flexible hours including overtime based on customer/department needs.
