MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – BUILDING AND FACILITIES MAINTENANCE

We are looking for a reliable Building Maintenance Technician to provide essential support across our facilities. This hands-on role involves responding to building alarms, conducting basic repairs, and assisting with facility operations to ensure a safe and efficient environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, or facilities support (5 years preferred in a Life Science, Diagnostic, or Pharmaceutical environment).
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Basic understanding of high-pressure boilers, chillers, and industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Google Docs, Gmail, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience supporting property management operations.
  • Prior hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Comfortable working closely with a maintenance manager or facilities management teams.
Responsibilities
  • Act as the first responder to alarms involving HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, fire alarms, leak detection, and refrigeration/cold storage units.
  • Troubleshoot minor building maintenance issues and escalate complex problems to the maintenance supervisor or facilities manager.
  • Monitor generators, inverters, and backup power systems during storm events and outages.
  • Drive a company-provided pick-up truck to off-site warehouses to complete scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to emergency fire alarms following on-site safety training protocols.
