MACHINE OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES Incumbent must be willing to work additional hours, as and when required, must be mechanically minded and have a sense of urgency about him/her. Adherence to policies and procedures is non negotiable. Being part of a team entails additional duties beyond operating machinery. 1 Operate machines according to Standard Operating Procedures 2 Adhere to safety instructions and procedures 3 Adjust machines according to running requirements 4 Maintain supply of packaging material for a quick change-over 5 Load relevant programs for products. 6 Adjust machine for optimal performance 7 Complete required quality and production control forms 8 Change parts on machines as necessary for different products 9 Ensure correct packaging is used 10 Continuously observe machine functions with respect to Seal integrity, film quality, 11 Adhere to PPE standards 12 Liaise with quality department on quality issues 13 Liaise with maintenance department on mechanical issues 14 Ensure correct information regarding downtime, machine operation, Packaging usage, waste and machine stoppages is noted for further processing. 15 Keep machines clean 16 Keep area surrounding machines clean 17 Identify, Raise and assist in closing potential safety risks and observations 18 Adhere to food safety policies 19 Generate ideas to improve performance. Job Requirements National senior certificate (Matric) Must be medically fit Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment; experience in FMCG, food processing, or packaging industry is an advantage.
