Description

We are a well-established and reputable precision engineering company, specialising in the production of long-lasting components from Cobalt & Nickel based alloys. These are predominantly used in the defence, aerospace, power generation, oil & gas and food industries where high temperatures, corrosion and abrasion can limit a product’s life.
Due to continued growth we have excellent opportunities for experienced Machine Setter/Operator to join the team here in Swindon.

Candidates should be able to show ability/aptitude in the following areas:

  • Have experience in Setting and Operating CNC Lathes including changing offsets and setting work-shifts;
  • Operating a wide range of measurement devices, procedures & machining techniques;
  • Perform in-line inspection duties – measuring and documenting from inspection reports;
  • Use CMM machines where required – full training will be provided
  • Adhere to and promote housekeeping requirements, safety processes and risk assessments;
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment throughout the facility, adhering to Health & Safety Regulations
  • Diligent adherence to Company performance procedures including reporting of non-conformance issues.
  • Assist in welding tasks when required, demonstrating proficiency in tooling techniques.

The role involves a 37.5 hour week over 4 days and occasionally requires overtime paid at 1.5 of your hourly rate. This is a permanent full-time opportunity with a competitive salary linked to experience (Hourly rate £14-£18).
The successful candidate will preferably have at least 2 years experience working on CNC lathes and be able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings is essential.
Experience of operating Fanuc, Heidenhain or Sieman’s machines would be desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.
Experience of working with solid cobalt and nickel based components, metallic and non-metallic materials would be an advantage. but is not essential.
