Description

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong leadership abilities to oversee the daily operations of our shop. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and capable of programming, setting up, and running CNC machines while also mentoring others and helping improve efficiencies across the shop. This role requires expertise with Mitsubishi CNC controls and proficiency in MasterCAM for programming and editing G-code.
You will take projects from start to finish: interpreting drawings, ordering raw material, programming, machining, and delivering finished products. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in shaping a growing machine shop within a well-established company.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of machine shop experience with both CNC and manual equipment.
  • Mitsubishi CNC controls experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of MasterCAM programming.
  • Ability to calculate and apply geometry, trigonometry, and basic math.
  • Strong blueprint reading and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot setups and machining processes.
  • Basic computer literacy for business and technical applications.
  • Strong team player with leadership potential.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
    Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Program CNC machines using MasterCAM and edit G-code for Mitsubishi controls.
  • Operate CNC lathes, mills, and manual machines as needed (lathes, mills, grinding, drilling).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and AutoCAD files.
  • Take ownership of full project cycles—from material procurement to final machining.
  • Set up CNC tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
  • Ensure accuracy of machined parts through measurement and inspection.
  • Provide leadership and input into shop operations, helping improve workflow and efficiencies.
  • Train and mentor junior machinists as needed.
