JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Tool Setter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience with various hand tools. As a Tool Setter, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation and maintenance of industrial machine tools, ensuring they meet the required specifications for production processes. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing operations.
Initially the hours will be 6am until 2pm, Monday to Friday to learn to basics of the role with a view to working on a rota of 6am until 2pm and 2pm until 10pm.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience of a moulding manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as long as you have a willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • A keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Knowledge or lean manufacturing and 5S methodology
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills are required
  • Must be able to collaborate with others

Responsibilities
  • Basic build up, installation, removal, maintenance, repair and modification of moulding tools
  • Carrying out regular tool inspections and cleaning
  • Safely carry out tool changes
  • Ensure spares/consumables are stored in an organised manner and stock levels are maintained at all times
  • Test and confirm the operation of tools by performing a product sample check, before returning machine to the production line
  • Fault finding
  • Setting and running production moulding machines when required
  • Making tooling modifications to improve tool reliability
  • Ensure tools and other equipment are maintained correctly, reporting any breakages/faults to Engineering
  • Uphold company HSE standards and report any shortfalls
  • Referring to basic engineering drawings
  • Using a variety of hand and power tools to assemble a wide variety of large and small fabricated components
  • Using welding equipment
  • Provide detailed handovers between shifts
  • To comply with company health and safety rules
  • To participate with the quality and environmental practices in the workplace
