JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinery and Electrical Alarm Panel Builder and Services Technician to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical alarm panels and related machinery systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical systems, a passion for precision work, and the ability to ensure compliance with safety standards. This position requires collaboration with engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions for industrial and commercial applications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or technical certification in electrical technology, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in electrical panel building, machinery assembly, or industrial services.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including programming and troubleshooting (e.g., IDEC, Siemens, or similar).
  • Familiarity with electrical components such as relays, sensors, circuit breakers, and wiring practices.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and experience working in industrial environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with Marine Equipment, HMI interfaces, or industrial networking (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Basic mechanical skills, including fabrication and assembly of machinery components.
  • Proficiency with tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and crimping tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and build electrical alarm panels, including wiring, component installation, and integration with machinery systems.
  • Perform on-site and in-shop services, such as installation, repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on alarm panels and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools, schematics, and testing equipment.
  • Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for alarm systems and machinery automation.
  • Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, electrical codes (e.g., USCG, ABS, NFA), and safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to interpret specifications, provide technical support, and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including service reports, parts inventories, and as-built drawings.
  • Conduct quality inspections and testing to verify system functionality and reliability before deployment.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in training junior technicians and staying updated on emerging technologies in electrical and automation systems.
