MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical certificate or qualification in a relevant field.
  • 5 years’ experience manufacturing precision components using lathes, mills, and general workshop equipment

  • Expertise in manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in a high-precision environment, supporting a broad range of manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) to support the design of setups and tooling.
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional team, interacting daily with engineers, technicians, and management.
  • Self-motivated with strong multitasking, organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to read drawings; Job specifications / Instructions
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred.

The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:

  • Act as a liaison between the design and manufacturing teams, ensuring that components and assemblies are optimized for manufacturability.
  • Provide expert input into the manufacturability of components and subsystems.
  • Participate in design reviews with a focus on manufacturing feasibility, quality control, tooling requirements, and process optimization.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of manufacturing issues, investigating and implementing corrective actions for non-conforming components or processes.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain to ensure proper sourcing of materials and components required for production.
  • Assist in the selection and validation of tools, fixtures, and equipment necessary for manufacturing tasks.
  • Prepare detailed documentation for manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Update designs or processes when necessary in response to manufacturing issues, part obsolescence, or evolving system requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts for manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, improve quality, and lower production costs.
