Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate large CNC horizontal/vertical machining centers for a wide range of large complex tasks. Interpret verbal/written instructions and complex blueprints to machine materials such as aluminum and steel, including large castings, forgings, plates, and large weldments. Select proper feeds, speeds, cutting tools, and work holding equipment to ensure tight tolerances and high-quality finishes. Use a variety of precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gage blocks, height gauges) to set up and inspect work. Review work performed in the department as needed; ensure work meets customer and military requirements. Operate overhead cranes to position large parts on and off machine beds safely. Maintain daily production records and keep work area clean and organized. Comply with all health and safety guidelines and perform related duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: 3–5 years of formal trade training or equivalent technical education. 5–10 years of hands-on experience setting up and operating large CNC horizontal and vertical mills.
