Description Experience with One or more product categories or machine types is critical: Okuma, DMG, or other equipment. Tool holding or other components. Summary: Independently setup and operate CNC-controlled mill turn multi-axis machines, complete with robot automated loading/unloading cells, to craft world-class tooling and work holding product. In SCHUNK's modern, climate-controlled production environment, the CNC machinist will prepare each job using programs and setup sheets to manufacture high-precision components. Collaboration with programmers, organizing automation for consistent production, and thorough inspection of parts according to inspection sheets are essential to uphold quality and machine efficiency. Maintaining open communication with supervisors and peers will foster continuous improvement in operations and reduce nonconforming dimensions. Responsibilities: Read, interpret, and understand technical drawings, dimensions, and requirements. Setup, monitor, and change required tools based on setup sheets and program requirements. Align and secure fixturing and accessories based on setup sheet and job requirements. Setup and verify reliable operation of automation equipment, including selection of robot programs, updating pickup points, and setting up inspection sequences. Load machine programs, adjust CNC data, and input necessary commands for machine operation. Support trial runs to verify the accuracy of machine settings and programmed control data for new or updated programs. Inspect parts during production using inspection sheets and precision gauging to ensure compliance with quality standards and make machine adjustments to optimize output. Maintain organized tools, gauges, and accessories in the drawers, shelves and working area. Support supply of raw material as needed for upcoming production needs. Communicate with supervisor or programmer about adjustments in work-sequence and/or nonconforming dimensions if necessary. Maintain a clean and organized work area, perform routine maintenance of the machine and work area and communicate repair needs with the supervisor. Requirements Qualifications & Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent required. A technical certification or associate degree in machining or a related field advantageous. 5 years of experience with CNC turning and milling required or a combination of education and experience, previous mill turn experience preferred.
