Description Department: Machining Summary: Plans, sets up, and operates typical machine shop equipment and tools to machine raw steel and castings to print into usable parts for Demco products Primary Duties: Sets up and operate machines to create parts to print Accurately use a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before and during production Ability to identify a problem and make adjustments accordingly Keep accurate counts on parts Be self motivated to meet order deadlines Communicate with employees in the department as well as with employees in other departments Performs other duties as required Machinist description is intended to define in general terms the most significant duties of a particular position and is not all inclusive of all duties or responsibilities of individual positions. Position descriptions are not intended to exclude the possibility of temporary assignments or the alteration of existing positions. Requirements Qualifications/Experience: Team player with good interpersonal skills Detail oriented for accuracy Basic math skills for accuracy in part count Knowledge of speeds and feeds rates Knowledge of the trade Degree in Machining or experience preferred Physical Job Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally and push/pull 100 pounds occasionally Bending from the waist – 40% of the time Lifting from waist level – 5 to 50lb requirement Above shoulder reach – Minimal Pinch/grip – 100% of the time Twisting – Minimal Standing – 100% of the time This position requires use of heavy equipment and an overhead crane.
