Description Machinist Job Title: Machinist Prepared By: Sr. HR Generalist Department: Production Approved By: Director of HR Reports To: Production Manager Summary: Set up and operate a CNC machine, or manual machine, to produce machined parts Essential Function: Set up and operate CNC or manual mill/lathe Verify and adjust settings to ensure specifications Change and adjust tools and inserts Troubleshoot problems and adjust to correction Produce production parts as per specified requirements Utilize proper speed and feed for maximum efficiency Deburr parts as needed Adhere to business management system (BMS), as applicable Assist with any other duties as assigned Requirements Basic Requirements: Editing of CNC machine programs and settings Knowledge of sheet metal materials and tubing General knowledge of small hand tools, including tape measure Understand blueprints, process sheets, and other documents Understand measurement and angle conversions Strong computer, written/verbal communication skills, and math skills including fraction conversions Utilize proper speed and feed for maximum efficiency Deburr parts as needed Intermediate to advanced experience with micrometer, caliper, and other measuring devices Physical Exposure: Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, and lifting Frequent lifting of up to 10 lbs Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs Oils/solvents on materials Sharp edges on parts or material Coolant/cutting solvent Fork truck traffic The above statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the principal functions of the occupation and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the occupation.
