Description

SUMMARY: The Machinist is a skilled-level machinist responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts. This role requires the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, follow detailed specifications, and ensure high-quality production with minimal supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Set up and operate CNC and manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other machine tools. * Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions. * Select appropriate tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for efficient and accurate machining. * Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and other measuring devices. * Adjust machine settings to maintain tolerances and meet quality standards. * Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, material inconsistencies, and programming errors. * Maintain accurate production records, including job travelers, inspection reports, and equipment logs. * Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure safe, reliable operation. * Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes. * Comply with all safety standards, company policies, and ISO/AS quality requirements. * Qualifications- * High school diploma or equivalent * Minimum of three (3) years’ experience, including CNC operation and setup. * Proficiency with machining math, including geometry and trigonometry. * Ability to use precision measurement tools with a high degree of accuracy. * Strong understanding of materials * Knowledge of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting techniques * Knowledge and use of hand tools and general inspection tools * Must read/write/speak English fluently * Ability to read and follow work orders, set up data sheets, and measurement instructions * CMM experience desired * Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred * Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to aerospace industry is required * Working knowledge of manufacturing principals and basic shop math, able to perform standard to metric numerical conversions * Previous experience in production and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) preferred * Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems preferred * Punctual and reliable attendance * Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 40 pounds We support team members with- * 4 x 10 schedule: Monday-Thursday 5:30am-4:00pm, OT may be available on Fridays. * Competitive wages and benefits to include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, critical illness, accidental injury, STD/LTD, FSA, HSA coverages * Safe working environment with PPE reimbursement for safety shoes and safety glasses * Quarterly performance bonus potential * Company-matched 401(k) retirement savings program * Employee assistance program (EAP) * Tuition reimbursement program towards courses for your future professional development * Career growth and progression in a stable environment * Supportive management vested in helping you succeed * Friendly and helpful coworkers and culture If you have experience as a CNC Machinist, or an overall love for mechanically driven careers we want to hear from you!
