Description
The Machinist is responsible for controlling machines and processes by using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate. This role will calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Instruments should include but limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales. Machine parts to specification using tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders. Set-up, adjust and operate all basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations. Perform in-process inspection using standard measurement equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned. 8-10 years of machining experience. Ability to work under minimal direction. Good verbal and written communication skills. Handling, installing, positioning, moving/manipulating materials. Performing physical activities that require frequent activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. High school diploma or equivalent.
