QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Graduate with minimum 1 year College or Apprentice hours
  • Basic ability to setup, adjust and operate conventional machine tools
  • Basic knowledge of hand precision tools
  • Basic ability to read drawings

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a CNC Machinist you will program, using drawing files and packaged conversion software, set tools, prepare fixtures and jigs and machine precision components/parts that meet the engineered drawings in the time allotted by the Manufacturing Process Instruction, while observing Risk Assessment requirements as they apply to each operation or machine.
You will report to the Shop Supervisor and be located at our facility in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all Risk Assessment requirements for the equipment being used.
  • Deliver acceptable parts in the time allowed.
  • Support apprentices and CNC Operators in set up and operation of equipment.
  • Offer advice to design group when requested.
  • Recommend/adapt improvements in tools, processes and procedures.
  • Manage part programme files complete with back up
  • Contribute to Tool Box talks and other communications.
