Emerson has an exciting opportunity in our Sherman, TX, location to join our team as a Weekend Shift Machinist (Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6AM-6PM). If you are safety conscious, follow through on commitments, and work well in a team environment, this position is for you. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for producing parts of a high degree of complexity for the Sherman operations.

Responsibilities

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Producing parts and meeting all specifications and tolerance required from work orders, shop orders, and/or Fisher specifications.
  • Operating any machine, including manual and CNC machines, to its proven capability in a highly productive manner.
  • Coordinating setups and programming issues with machine shop programmers including setting up the part, defining work planes, and managing different geometries.
  • Inspecting all detail parts to ensure operations conform to requirement.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records.Reporting status of work using computer input, bar code, or other devices as required.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)
  • Completion of Machine Shop program at an accredited school or equivalent machining experience.
  • Proficiency with Mastercam.
  • Proficient with the use of manual and CNC machines including ability to read and edit CNC programs.
  • Ability to use micrometers, dial calipers, functional gauges and engineering prints.
