Position Summary: Performs routine and complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures at a technical level that will produce high quality images consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Specializes in performing routine and complex MRI procedures. 2. Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met. 3. Operates and maintains all assigned MRI equipment to ensure it works properly. 4. Positions patients and utilizes equipment in order to correctly capture the images requested by a physician. 5. Properly identifies, prepares and/or administers medications that are within the technologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner. 6. Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self. 7. Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats. 8. Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing. 9. Performs all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment. 10. May assist other areas of radiology as assigned. 11. Performs other related duties as required and directed. Qualifications: Required: • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology. • Advanced ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. • Current BLS certification.
