Description The mission of the Mail Clerk for Outreach Inc. is to provide our customers with postcard mailings that promote specific functions and activities on a specific date and to addresses as dictated by the customer, while conforming to all USPS addressing and mailing presentation requirements. This position also exists in order to provide Outreach with the quick and efficient delivery of raw materials, components, completed mailers, or equipment to any number of locations within the greater Colorado Springs or Denver metro areas. Daily consistent delivery of mail to the Colorado Springs post office may be required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: List Preparation: Receives mail lists and formats, sorts, and prepares data for use on the mail house ink jet equipment Ink jet Operation: Checking in cards, pulling samples, data processing, ink-jetting, sorting, bundling, strapping, sacking/palletizing, and weighing orders to prepare for carrier pickup or Outreach transportation to the post office. Final Mailing Preparation: Prepares mailings for the post office by organizing by need-by dates, weighing and wrapping pallets, preparing PMOD shipment tags, and securing completed mail into the transport vehicle. Driving: Duties include using the company van or 15’ box truck to deliver finished mail to the post office and to make routine pickups and deliveries to various vendors and companies. Vehicle Awareness: Maintain the daily vehicle checklist and mileage logs, and be aware of any potential vehicle damage or service needs, and report those to your manager. Fueling the vehicles and plugging them in during the winter months is expected. Postal Run: Delivering completed mail to the post office will require unloading mailers with an electric pallet jack, scanning job forms at the USPS Self-Service, and then waiting for the PO to verify our mail. Additional duties may include: Mailing List Sorting, Shipment Freight Booking with 3rd party carriers, Samples Station, Closing Shipments, assisting the Manager with shipment research, and other various duties assigned. Ability to follow instructions Must have a good working ability with a PC (Windows Platform) Naturally operates at a faster pace than most Ability to adapt and flex with changing needs Mail services or USPS knowledge is a plus A valid driver’s license with a clean record is required A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required. Must be able to work and reside in the US (Outreach does not sponsor work visas). WORKING CONDITIONS Regular and daily operation of a cargo van or 15’ box truck Regular standing on concrete floors , walking, bending, lifting and pushing. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs; Must be able to push rolling stock up to 2,500 lbs Use of mechanical equipment and tools comprise more than 100% of each working day. Exposure to machinery noise on open manufacturing floor for more than 100% of each working day. Intermittent periods of stress related to our busy production seasons a few times during the year. Some regular interaction with colleagues and/or customers and/or vendors. Works in both climate and non-climate-controlled areas.
