Your work will involve developing, testing, and maintaining the software that controls a computer's operating system, hardware, and other systems software. You'll be a master troubleshooter and problem-solver, with the skills to fix even the most complex issues that arise. Not only will you be responsible for ensuring the security of our computer systems, but you'll also work closely with other IT professionals to design and implement cutting-edge technology that keeps Kyndryl ahead of the curve. In this role, you'll provide the underlying Mainframe operating system platform programming and DBDC subsystem programming support that forms the backbone of our applications. You'll guide functional objectives on technologies and make use of your expert knowledge to drive solutions to complex problems. As a leader in this field, you'll also be expected to conduct RCA discussions for the products you work on and provide ongoing technical and operational guidance to lead professional work teams. You may even manage departments on a national or international level, defining objectives and managing resources to ensure the success of your projects. Required Technical and Professional Expertise 15+ Years of Experience in Mainframe Application Support. Provide L2/L3 production and application support for enterprise mainframe applications and home-grown tools. Perform program analysis, code review, impact assessment, and dependency analysis for mainframe applications. Analyze existing COBOL, Assembler, JCL, and utility programs to identify remediation requirements during upgrades and migrations. Lead and support COBOL compiler upgrade initiatives including impact analysis, code remediation, testing, validation, and deployment. Participate in CA Endevor upgrade, migration, and implementation activities across environments. Support modernization and upgrade of mainframe development, debugging, and support tools. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes. Support batch processing, job scheduling, monitoring, and incident management activities. Coordinate with development, infrastructure, middleware, and support teams during upgrade and release activities. Execute regression testing, validation, and post-upgrade stabilization activities. Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and upgrade runbooks. Support release management, code migration, and deployment processes. Preferred Technical and Professional Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. Technical guidance to the team. Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future system software requirements to meet the organization's needs. Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
