Learn more on dxc.com We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Batch Scheduler to support and enhance our z/OS scheduling environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands‑on experience with mainframe scheduling tools and a solid background in diagnosing and resolving batch job issues. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced mainframe professional to expand their expertise while working with complex, integrated job flows and mission‑critical batch operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing mainframe batch schedules to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and reliability across all environments. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and monitor schedules for mainframe batch processing. Ensure timely and accurate execution of jobs across multiple environments. Troubleshoot job failures and provide root cause analysis and resolution. Collaborate with application teams to onboard new jobs and modify existing schedules. Utilize, manage and retrieve job output reports, logs, and audit trails. Perform impact analysis for job changes and scheduling modifications. Maintain documentation for job flows, dependencies, and recovery procedures. Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution. Provide on-call support for production scheduling issues. Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements. Required Skills & Experience 10+ years of hands-on experience with scheduling packages on z/OS (Jobtrac, iZWS or similar). Proficiency in JCL and mainframe utilities. Strong working knowledge of Control-D report management and retrieval. Experience with batch job troubleshooting, performance tuning, and recovery. Familiarity with RACF, REXX, TSO/ISPF, and other mainframe tools. Understanding of job dependencies, critical path analysis, and SLA management. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and documentation abilities.
