Your expertise will be critical in guiding the full IT data lifecycle governance , including acquisition, transformation, classification, storage, presentation, distribution, security, privacy, and archiving to ensure data is accurate, complete and secure. You will work closely with our customers to design solutions and data architectures that address their unique business problems, considering their needs and constraints while applying your industry knowledge and expertise. You will have the opportunity to work with diverse technologies, like databases (relational, hierarchical and object-oriented), file systems and storage management, document imaging, knowledge and content management, taxonomies and business intelligence. All relevant for designing business-driven IT solutions that meet data requirements and incorporate cloud solutions for different types of storage needs. As a Data Architect, you will have the chance to develop and design centralized or distributed systems that both address user requirements and perform efficiently and effectively. You will ensure the viability of proposed solutions by conducting solution assurance assessments and work closely with the project team and key stakeholders to ensure that the final solution meets all customer requirements and expectations. Required Technical and Professional Expertise Plan, design, and execute the migration of IDMS and IMS databases and applications from legacy mainframe environments (COBOL, z/OS) to modern platforms, including cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) or distributed systems. Analyze existing IDMS/IMS schemas, transaction logic, batch processes, and application dependencies to define a robust migration strategy. Evaluate and recommend tools and techniques for migration, including ETL tools, replication engines, and modernization accelerators. Develop and implement data migration, data validation, and data transformation plans to ensure integrity, consistency, and minimal downtime. Collaborate with application developers, architects, and business analysts to ensure migrated applications maintain business functionality. Support performance tuning and optimization of IDMS/IMS databases in the new target environment. Create and maintain technical documentation, including migration plans, data mappings, and process flows. Develop and execute test plans for functional, regression, and performance testing of migrated applications and databases. Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues promptly to maintain project timelines. Establish best practices for modernization, database management, and ongoing operations of migrated IDMS and IMS systems. Over 7 years of experience in IBM Mainframe Database migrations Preferred Technical and Professional Experience •Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, data integration and governance framework with one of the three cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or GCP) •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Security, or a related field Being You Diversity is a whole lot more than what we look like or where we come from, it’s how we think and who we are.
