The Role As a Mainframe iSeries AS400 System Administrator at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts – good at providing analysis, documenting and diagraming work for hand-off, offering timely solutions, and generally “figuring it out.” This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients. Contributing to current projects where you analyze problems and tech issues, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate system. This role isn’t specific to any one platform, so you’ll need a good feel for all of them. And because of this, you’ll experience variety and growth at Kyndryl that you won’t find anywhere else. You’ll be involved early to offer solutions, help decide whether something can be done, and identify the technical and timeline risks up front. Required Technical and Professional Expertise 7 to 11 Years of Experience in AS/400 Operating System Support. iSeries H/W and S/W config, install, migration and maintenance. iSeries PTF/APAR management. Backup and Recovery management using BRMS. OS/400 Security Management. Performance and Capacity Management (PM400 and Perf Navigator). iSeries Job Schedulers - Robot, IBM Advanced Job Scheduler (IJS) and the Native Job Scheduler (WRKJOBSCDE). Experienced in VIOS and HMC management Extensive expertise in infrastructure and application high availability. Experienced in PCI and SOX compliance. Knowledgeable about IBM-supported network architectures and configurations - TCP/IP, SNI, SNA. Knowledge on iSeries environment with VIOS/ External storage and Virtual Tape Library like ProtecTier/ DSI VTL/EMC Data domain. Working knowledge on Power6/Power7/Power8/Power9 and Power 10. Knowledge on new system builds and decommissions. Knowledge on Incident, Problem and Change Management process. Preferred Technical and Professional Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. Knowledge on iSeries environment with VIOS/External storage and Virtual Tape Library like ProtecTier/DSI VTL/EMC Data domain. Knowledge of Automation/Monitoring tool. Working knowledge on Power6/Power7/Power8/Power9 Knowledge of Automation/Monitoring tool.
