MAINFRAME SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

  • Develop COBOL applications and integrate with DB2, IBM MQ, and RACF in a z/OS mainframe environment
  • Support modernization efforts using Micro Focus tools and collaborate across Agile, cross-functional teams
  • Security Requirement: Due to the secure nature of this role, we are seeking candidates who are Australian Citizens or individuals with active security clearance

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Baseline Security Clearance required from Day 1
  • Candidates must be Australian Citizens and eligible to work onsite in Australia
  • Clearance exemptions are rare and assessed case-by-case

SOFT SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

QUALIFICATIONS

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications in a z/OS environment
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for DB2 for z/OS
  • Integrate COBOL applications with DB2 and IBM MQ
  • Manage system security and user access using RACF
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (testers, analysts, DevOps)
  • Contribute to system documentation and knowledge sharing
  • Support modernization initiatives using Micro Focus tools
