EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 4 years’ experience developing in Mainframe, COBOL, DB2, JCL
  • 2 years’ experience supporting core banking platform back end environments
  • Previous experience analyzing, supporting and managing incidents within COBOL, Microfocus, DB2, Oracle, and MF environments
  • Previous experience supporting Java, APIs
  • Basic understanding of Windows and Linux system administration
  • Banking financial knowledge: Deposits, collections, checking, savings, payments is a plus

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience with MuleSoft is a plus
  • Experience with Partenon platform is highly desired

Responsibilities

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

This role will serve as a link between the Information Technology teams, Business users, and management regarding important data, system and platform migration projects. The role will involve understanding the system’s requirements, business functions and needs, and objectives by supporting Senior members of the team. This person will be analyzing technical incidents, batch cancellations within complex, international migration projects. The ideal person is familiar with Mainframe environments (DB2, COBOL, JCL, batch) and other technical areas such as Oracle and SQL.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Work with cross-functional technical teams within mainframe systems engineering/development areas for mainframe platforms and core banking back end environments.
  • Gather requirements and help to drive mainframe (COBOL, DB2), Oracle, API and Microfocus support, incident management.
  • Plan and estimate milestones/activities (effort/duration) and identify role/skills set per activity (system, OS, middleware).
  • Identify risks on time, propose strategies, workaround and risk mitigation actions proactively.
  • Define technical reporting and alerting requirements/validations in addition to developing relationship with partners in IT and Operations, working with them to optimize and enhance our integration between Operations, IT, and PMO.
  • Help design, document, and maintain system processes while participating in status meetings.
  • Prepare requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations while documenting detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions using good documentation and writing practices.
