The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy equipment operation in underground construction projects. The ideal candidate will have vast experience in Excavation and Trenching: digging trenches and excavating soil to lay underground pipes or other utilities, ensuring proper depth, slope, and alignment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Execute excavation and grading tasks with precision, adhering to specified grades and dimensions. Maintain awareness of underground utilities and other potential hazards while digging.
• Handle various materials including soil, rock, gravel, and construction debris using the excavator. Load and unload trucks, stockpiles, and other designated areas as needed.
• Responsible for the installation of different types/sizes of pipes e.g. Storm, water, and sewer pipe
• Responsible for the movement of pipe and placing gravel at specified grades
• Assist with backfill and compacting of excavation
• Operates in crowded, fast-paced working environments, and exercises extreme caution with awareness of potential situational hazards to ensure site safety.
• Performs effective and safe operation of equipment.
• Recognizes existing and potential hazards and knows how to identify these through conducting a field-level pre-job hazard analysis, checking the machine for hazards, and assessing any tasks before starting.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating heavy equipment. Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any issues or malfunctions promptly.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-3 or more years of running a Excavator ( Mainline and sidehoe)
• Underground Utility and Earthworks construction experience are required.
• High attention to detail is required.
• Pay to be determined by skill and experience.
• Ensure compliance with all Company policies, OH & S Legislation, and WCB reporting procedures.
• Understand and maintain quality and production standards and work to achieve established production goals.
• Must have your own transportation.
• Must have own steel-toes safety boots.
• Seasonal, full-time, and weekends
