Mainscale Classroom Teacher  (August 2026 – June 2027) - Kennedy School Kennedy School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Mainscale Classroom Teacher for a 10.5-month contract, running from August 2026 to June 2027. This role is ideal for a confident practitioner with a proven track record in implementing the IB PYP and recent experience leading a full-time Year 1 or Year 2 classroom. The successful candidate will be deeply committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and must demonstrate a successful history of tailoring their practice to support the diverse needs of every student.   Brief Job Overview: The primary role of the classroom teacher is to design learning experiences that are accessible to all students. Recognising that every child learns differently, the teacher plans with this diversity in mind from the outset, moving away from a "one-size-fits-all" approach. As a teacher at Kennedy School, you will set high expectations for all learners while providing the flexible options they need to succeed. This involves proactively identifying and removing barriers so that every student can engage deeply and be show their learning in multiple ways. Through constant reflection and a commitment to providing students with choice and voice, you will empower every child to become a motivated, independent, and successful learner. Key Responsibilities Teaching and Assessment: * Collaboratively plan learning engagements which meet student’s individual needs and ensure student’s progression and well being * Design a playful approach to learning suitable to the age and stage of the learners. * Use a range of effective strategies for teaching, learning engagement and classroom management * Use flexible groupings and structured inquiry to deliver high quality learning in line with the IBO philosophy * Maintain a well-organised and student-centred learning environment * Use learning technologies to enhance and innovate learning * Use transition information to guide the learning journey for all students * Use a range of assessment methods and approaches to highlight student’s achievements and to identify their strengths and stretches * Provide clear and constructive feedback to students, their parents and caregivers Wider professional roles: * Plan and engage in professional learning activities that support school and systematic priorities * Take responsibility for your own professional development and use the outcomes to improve teaching and students’ learning * Make an active contribution to the school guidelines and aspirations of the school * Ensure administration of classroom procedures are completed efficiently * Collaborate with members of the school community to build a team environment that supports students’ learning and wellbeing Additional responsibilities may include: * Assist with or manage an aspect of daily school management * Assist year-level leaders, coordinators, the principal and vice principals with the performance of specific functions * Assist with or manage a specialist function such as sport, student welfare, excursions or camps coordination * Supervise a range of student activities including support and welfare programmes * To perform other duties and assume accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed-upon objective General Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a Postgraduate * Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE)  * *iPGCE (assessment only) is not eligible for Teacher Registration status by the Hong Kong Education Bureau  * Understanding and application of the PYP within an international context is most suitable.
