To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in a Maintenance or Facilities Technician role (hospital experience highly regarded).
  • Relevant trade qualifications and hands-on experience in facilities/building services.
  • A current driver’s licence (mandatory).
  • A General Construction Safety Card (White/Blue Card).
  • Strong customer service, communication, and computer literacy skills.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and manage competing demands.
  • Sound knowledge of WH&S requirements, accreditation/certification processes, and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Familiarity with electrical, fire, mechanical, and hydraulic systems (knowledge of the AUSHFG Guideline desirable).
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Maintenace Technician, you will be responsible for the proactive management of the hospital’s operational and maintenance requirements. This hands-on role operates autonomously and is integral to ensuring compliance with legislative standards, accreditation requirements, and Ramsay Health Care policies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and managing facility maintenance schedules.
  • Monitoring and managing supplies and spare parts, including procurement.
  • Implementing preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs.
  • Coordinating contractors and supervising minor works and maintenance projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements for essential services.
  • Controlling expenditure within agreed budgets.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
  • Conducting site inspections, inductions, and work permit processes for contractors.
  • Participating in the after-hours on-call roster.
