Description A well-established property management company is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at a Section 42 apartment community located in Elgin, IL. Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance to ensure that the community’s apartments, buildings, and grounds are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing quality service to residents. Responsibilities: Complete work orders and service requests in a timely, professional manner Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment Maintain the appearance and safety of common areas and grounds Assist with unit turnovers, inspections, and emergency maintenance needs Ensure compliance with all safety and housing program requirements Requirements Qualifications: Previous maintenance experience in a multifamily or residential property required Experience working with Section 42 (LIHTC) or other affordable housing communities preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Must be available for on-call rotation as needed
