Responsibilities

The Maintenance and Automation Supervisor will play a critical role at our Georgetown, ON plant, a manufacturer of quality cracker products. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations while driving continuous improvement and automation initiatives across the facility. You will supervise a team of maintenance technicians, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensure all machinery, equipment, and control systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

The role also provides hands-on technical support and advanced problem-solving for automation and production processes, ensuring optimal equipment reliability and supporting a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians to ensure proper maintenance practices and timely repairs.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to the design, installation, and operation of control systems and semi-automated production processing and packaging equipment.
  • Collaborate with Operations to address design and operational concerns, ensuring optimal control functionality within process systems.
  • Assign tasks and prioritize maintenance activities based on urgency and criticality of equipment.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to reduce equipment downtime and increase reliability.
  • Monitor and schedule regular inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and calibration of machinery and equipment.
  • Coordinate and prioritize emergency repairs, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities comply with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
