WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a facilities or maintenance technician, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repair techniques for equipment-related issues.
  • Familiarity with relevant tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as required.
  • Additional certifications in trades, electrical, HVAC, or other technical areas are considered an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility and equipment issues, including HVAC malfunctions, plumbing leaks, electrical faults, and conveyor or production equipment breakdowns.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, to identify any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and building systems to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure timely response to maintenance requests while prioritizing tasks to reduce operational downtime.
  • Support the installation, relocation, and commissioning of new machinery and facility systems.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or maintenance services.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, equipment maintenance logs, and inventory of spare parts on computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Follow safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and maintain compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain building infrastructure such as lighting, doors, docks, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Support facility audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
