ExxonMobil has operated in the U.K. for more than 135 years. We are best known today for the marketing of our Esso fuels and Mobil 1 lubricants and for our petrochemicals. WHAT ROLE YOU WILL PLAY IN OUR TEAM
We are currently recruiting engineering apprentices to join our maintenance team here at Fife Ethylene Plant (FEP), Mossmorran. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced and varied engineering environment, maintaining the plant and equipment at one of Europe’s largest ethylene plants.
Engineering apprenticeships are four-year schemes that will help you achieve a variety of qualifications. You will aim to achieve a Modern Apprenticeship, an SVQ Level III, a National Certificate and a Higher National Certificate in your chosen discipline. The first year is spent full time at Forth Valley College, Falkirk and the remaining years are spent on site at FEP gaining first-hand experience of your chosen trade whilst attending college on a day release basis.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Machinery Apprentice – as a machinery technician, you will be responsible for mechanical repairs, fault diagnosis and the preventative maintenance of a wide range of rotating and specialized mechanical equipment with the entire site being an intricate and carefully designed combination of valves, towers, exchangers and pipes, you will enjoy challenges which will enhance your practical skills.
Instrumentation Apprentice - look after highly complex pieces of equipment and use the latest automated instruments. Instrumentation Technicians are responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance on critical shutdown systems, pressure, level, and temperate instruments, analysers and logic/control systems.
Analyser Apprentice - look after highly complex pieces of continuous online analysis equipment ensuring they operate reliably and repairing as necessary. Analyser Technicians are responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance on critical analyser systems including gas chromatographs, infrared analysers and water analysis. They will also support in the laboratory carrying out offline quality testing.
