Old Thorns Hotel & Resort is currently looking for a Maintenance Assistance to help ensure the hotel is kept up to standard and all repairs are completed in a timely manner and to an acceptable standard. The workload is varied and interesting. Candidates should be able to show a previous track record in general site maintenance, repair work and planned preventative maintenance. Having a trade skill would be advantageous, eg plumbing, carpentry, electrical.

Main Tasks:

• To assist with preventative maintenance tasks and scheduled maintenance inspections and repairs.
• To carry out short term maintenance work, emergency repairs affecting guest bedrooms and services promptly.
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed and implemented during each work task.
• To deal with emergency and breakdown calls and answer radio call quickly and efficiently.
• To carry out refurbishment, painting and decorating tasks as and when required.
• To ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
• To use and maintain all machinery and equipment in a professional manner and ensure it is correctly stored following use.
• To assist the Facilities Manager with H&S compliance as required.

Skills & Knowledge:

• 1-2 years in general maintenance role
• skill of Painting & decorating would be an advantage
• skill of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, would be an advantage
• Ability to prioritise, organise and manage a varied and changing workload.
• Knowledge of H&S regulations.

Old Thorns Hotel & Resort is located in Liphook, Hampshire and has 153 bedrooms and 51 Apartments. Facilities include golf, spa, meetings & events, restaurants, bars and a health club. We are located just off the A3 and in easy reach of Guildford & Portsmouth.
