Job Details Job Location: Dinwiddie Health & Rehab Center - NORTH DINWIDDIE, VA 23803 Position Type: Full Time JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Assistant helps the Director of Maintenance to ensure the center is in exceptional condition. The Assistant helps the Director with general maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of the building, grounds, and equipment. Essential Functions: 1) Works with Director of Maintenance to complete general and preventive maintenance and repairs. 2) Works on plumbing, mechanical equipment and some electrical projects. 3) Properly uses all safety devices, respirators, ear plugs, safety goggles, safety glasses, specialty gloves and any and all safety equipment to ensure that interior and exterior maintenance work are done in a safe and hazard free manner. 4) Assists the Director of Maintenance in maintaining the facility Safety Program and actively promotes safety and accident prevention. 5) Covers for Maintenance Director, when needed. 6) Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualifications: 1) Ability to work in extreme hot and cold, inside and outside the facility. Ability to work during the rain, sleet, snow, and other extreme weather conditions. Will be on call for emergency situations. 2) Ability to safely use all types of power equipment, such as lawn equipment, chain saws, skill saws, electric drills, and floor care equipment. 3) Ability to work all scheduled hours and after hours during special projects and in emergency situations.
