East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) is seeking for (1) regular full time Maintenance Assistant in the Property Management department.

  • Location: West Grand & Brush

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Property Manager, responsible for skilled maintenance and janitorial tasks to uphold the condition, safety, and curb appeal of rental units, common areas, and grounds. Assists in implementing a preventive maintenance program to minimize emergencies and maintain site quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned service requests promptly and cost-effectively.
  • Perform maintenance tasks, including painting, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, carpentry, drywall, and HVAC upkeep.
  • Conduct janitorial duties to keep vacant units, restrooms, and common areas clean and presentable.
  • Maintain grounds and facilities to ensure safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
  • Perform monthly safety inspections and document findings.
  • Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies, reporting needs to the Property Manager.
  • Report hazards, extensive repairs, and emergency conditions as needed.
  • Assist with supply ordering, pickups, and storage maintenance.
  • Share on-call responsibilities for emergency repairs after business hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of janitorial procedures and building maintenance.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs on appliances, plumbing, electrical, locks, flooring, and walls.
  • Experience with carpentry, masonry, painting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong record-keeping and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with residents and handle concerns effectively.
  • Capability to read site plans and follow safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, kneel, bend, stand, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as required.
