We are seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team and help ensure our facility remains clean, functional, and safe for residents, staff, and visitors.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Director in maintaining the building, grounds, and equipment of the nursing home. This position plays an important role in keeping our facility running smoothly, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for residents and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior maintenance experience, especially in a healthcare or residential setting, is a plus
• Basic knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC)
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks

• Assist with routine maintenance and repair of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, and general repairs
• Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner
• Conduct regular inspections of the building and grounds
• Help maintain cleanliness and safety of common areas and exterior grounds
• Assist in setting up rooms for events or facility activities
• Respond promptly to maintenance-related emergencies
• Follow all safety guidelines and infection control procedures
• Assist with snow removal, lawn care, and seasonal upkeep as needed
