Description Job Title Code: MAINTASST FLSA: Nonexempt Position Purpose The purpose of this position is to maintain facility building, equipment, and grounds in accordance with maintenance policies and procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Essential Job Functions – Principal Accountabilities Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair. Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs. Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. Performs routine maintenance on building systems. Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities. Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. Other Job Functions Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers. Knowledge of general carpentry and repair. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Detail-oriented and thorough. Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance. Ability to interact with staff, residents, and visitors while remaining professional, polite, and courteous. Must demonstrate initiative, follow-through, teamwork, cooperation, safety orientation, and dependability. Prolonged periods standing and walking. Converse with others, write legibly, read and comprehend written/verbal information. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently; up to 75 pounds occasionally.
