JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance and mechanical knowledge, with the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are operating efficiently and safely.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or maintenance role preferred, ideally in pharmaceutical or food industry.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems is an asset.
  • Understanding of GMP or regulated environments is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual labor tasks.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime as required.
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform repairs on various types of equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise others when necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Assist maintenance technicians in performing routine and preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment.
  • Support repair activities for machinery, HVAC systems, and utility equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, parts, and work areas.
  • Perform basic building maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, assembling shelves, minor plumbing tasks).
  • Help monitor equipment for signs of wear or malfunction and report issues to the maintenance team.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, GMP guidelines, and company policies.
  • Keep accurate maintenance logs and assist in updating documentation as needed.
  • Perform other general support tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Team Lead.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automated systems.
  • Conduct welding tasks as needed for repairs and modifications.
  • Read and interpret schematics to understand system designs and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of customer service in all maintenance activities.
