Description We are seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Fellowship House, a nonprofit residential substance use treatment facility. The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for providing basic maintenance services, cosmetic repairs, and assisting with monthly maintenance needs at the facility. Additionally, the Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for teaching clients maintenance techniques and skills to help them with future employment. Duties consist of: Make general plumbing, electrical and structure repairs and ensure cleanliness of building and grounds Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as painting, minor plumbing repairs, and electrical work' Conduct cosmetic repairs, such as patching walls, fixing doors, and other general maintenance tasks Assist with monthly maintenance needs, such as cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the facility' Teach clients maintenance techniques and skills to help them become employable in the future Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times Other duties as assigned Document all interactions and services, as they occur, to team leaders and other relevant staff; participate in all staff discussions relevant to client care. Establish a maintenance schedule for weekly, seasonal, and annual needs. Identify cost saving methods of keeping up property infrastructure and cosmetic appearance Weekly inspections of residential floors to ensure client safety and identify areas of need Requirements Ability to work with co-occuring populations (substance use and mental health) Must have a valid Alabama drivers license Strong knowledge of basic maintenance tasks, such as painting, plumbing, and electrical work Excellent communication and teaching skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions HS Diploma or equivalent Tuesday- 7am-4pm Wednesday- 7am-4pm Thursday- 7am-4pm This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
