JOB TITLE: MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out general maintenance of rooms, hallways, and service user environments within the nursing home.
Conduct routine repairs on furniture, fittings, and light fixtures.
Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on small electrical appliances.
Maintain and review all fire safety checks and ensure annual inspections are completed.
Monitor and manage the home’s heating, power, and water systems.
Ensure adequate stock levels and equipment maintenance across the facility.
Communicate effectively with the Registered Manager and team regarding maintenance schedules and issues.
Identify and report any non-compliance or safety risks promptly.
Prioritise daily tasks and manage workload efficiently.

Candidate Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a maintenance or similar role.
Understanding of fire safety, manual handling, and health & safety regulations.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
Full UK Driving Licence
Subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check.
