ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • The Multi-Skilled Engineer must Hold a Level 1 Health & Safety Certificate.
  • The Maintenance Assistant must demonstrate full understanding of Health & Safety

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Manage contractors effectively.
  • Painting and Decoration
  • Handle mechanical and plumbing maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to first-line reactive calls.
  • Perform pre-planned maintenance tasks.
  • Utilize carpentry skills.
  • Monitor and report statutory compliance.
  • Monitor water quality.
  • Coordinate with partners on-site.
  • Complete Weekly Fire Alarm Checks
  • Complete Monthly Emergency Lighting Checks

EXPERIENCE AND ADMINISTRATION:

  • Administer planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Manage planned maintenance contracts.
  • Understand statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure compliance through effective administration of health and safety procedures.
  • Make informed decisions to maintain service quality.
  • Good levels of commercial awareness and analytical skills to assist with development of maintenance procedures.
  • Good levels of interpersonal, leadership, communication, and time management skills with an ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Maintenance Assistant role requires working alongside the Senior Management, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, to ensure St Matthews Healthcare Multi-Skilled management and compliance is met. You will be working at our east Sussex Home, The Moreton Centre.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

  • Maintenance Tasks: Execute both Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance activities in a safe, efficient, and timely manner, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-On Approach: Work closely with maintenance teams, taking a practical approach to compliance management for reactive and planned works.
  • Record Keeping: Administer statutory and legislative maintenance records.
  • Healthcare Experience: Demonstrate hands-on experience in a healthcare environment.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Assist as directed by the line manager.
  • Alert line management to any safety hazards.
  • Provide support during lift entrapments.
  • Participate in emergency on-call rotations.
