Courtyard Prince George is recruiting for a Maintenance Associate to join our team! This role is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance while performing routine and on-demand services for the hotel. The Maintenance Associate will also be responsible for complying with internal and external procedures including but not limited to health and safety and fire protection.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Secondary school diploma and/or trade certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience in related position
  • General maintenance and building trade experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of all tools, equipment and processes needed to perform work
  • Physical mobility, stamina and the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Pool certification is considered an asset
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including responding to emergency maintenance issues
  • Practice safety standards at all times, knowledgeable of hotel fire alarm system/panel and emergency procedures
  • Computer skills and technical aptitude
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: $20.00-$22.50 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Report to the hotel’s Chief Engineer or General Manager for daily tasks
  • Perform moderate to intermediate complex tasks with a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (ie: filter replacement, equipment cleaning) and improvements
  • General repair and maintenance of the property
  • Prioritizing needs of the property and investigating all maintenance requests
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
  • Perform outside custodial duties as required (ie: snow removal, removing garbage)
  • Respond to guest maintenance requests efficiently and with immediacy
  • Perform daily pool check including monitoring and adjusting chemical levels
  • Receive, arrange/source, track, monitor and report status of maintenance and repair work
  • Ensure the security of the property while performing tasks
  • Performs any and all other tasks assigned for the success of the hotel
