Job Summary: Responsible for detecting and troubleshooting irregularities and malfunctions in food production machinery. Reports to: Maintenance SupervisorKey Responsibilities

  • Assists with identifying equipment breakdown causes
  • Assist in repairing, adjusting, refurbishing and rebuilding of mechanical equipment (manufacturing and retail)
  • Assist with general building maintenance, including but not limited to basic construction work, minor plumbing repairs, painting and regular cleaning/ upkeep of equipment and building spaces
  • Maintain food manufacturing equipment through consistent preventative maintenance
  • Take plant readings and maintain log book and maintenance log book
  • Ensure all equipment operates safely and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards are met
  • Respond to store maintenance calls with efficiency
  • Adhering to Health and Safety policies and programs
  • May be required to assist with maintenance at Denninger’s retail locations
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum two years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in hand tools and power tools, including cutting, grinding and brazing
  • Ability to work from schematics, drawings and prints when troubleshooting
  • Ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Post secondary education with mechanical trade qualifications an asset
  • Experience troubleshooting packaging, production and material handling equipment is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with refrigeration is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CMMS is an asset.
  • HVAC skills are an asset.
