JOB OVERVIEW The Maintenance Attendant is responsible for supporting the overall maintenance, safety, functionality, and appearance of the hotel’s physical property. This role requires a hands-on, multi-skilled professional who can manage daily maintenance operations, respond quickly to guest and operational needs, and ensure all building systems function efficiently and safely. Such a position plays a key role in protecting the hotel’s assets, maintaining brand standards, and ensuring a positive guest experience through timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and strong operational support. WHAT WE OFFER: * Pay rate: $21.00 - 22.00 per hour * 401(k) with company matching * Exclusive worldwide Marriott employee travel discount program * ... and more DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform daily walk-through inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, mechanical rooms, exterior grounds, and parking areas * Assess and maintain the safe and efficient operation of structural, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety systems * Identify deficiencies or safety hazards and complete repairs or escalate appropriately * Perform general repairs including drywall, painting, carpentry, tile, fixtures, lighting, locks, and basic equipment troubleshooting * Ensure all areas meet brand standards for safety, cleanliness, and appearance * Execute and document all preventative maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer guidelines * Maintain a structured PM schedule for guest rooms and building systems * Monitor system performance and recommend cost-effective solutions to prevent recurring issues * Support energy conservation efforts and promote safe, efficient equipment use across departments * Respond promptly and professionally to guest and internal maintenance requests * Prioritize tasks based on urgency and operational impact * Accurately document work performed within the hotel’s maintenance management system * Maintain daily task checklists and ensure timely completion of assignments * Coordinate and monitor third-party vendors performing maintenance or specialized repairs * Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety standards, budgets, and timelines * Assist with reviewing contractor bids, scopes of work, and project completion * Verify quality and satisfactory completion of contracted services  * Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and local building and fire codes * Follow proper procedures for tool use, equipment operation, and hazardous materials handling * Maintain organized storage areas and safe working conditions * Respond effectively to emergencies including power outages, plumbing failures, weather damage, life-safety incidents, etc. * Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or compliance concerns  * Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and system data * Provide updates to the upper management regarding building condition, repair priorities, and capital needs * Assist in managing inventory, purchasing controls, and supply levels within budget guidelines  * Collaborate with Front Desk and Housekeeping to ensure timely resolution of guest-impacting issues * Interact with guests professionally and courteously while minimizing disruption * Support other departments as needed in a limited-service, team-oriented environment * Perform other duties as assigned by Management QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS   Education & Experience * High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred * 1-3 years of general maintenance experience in hospitality, commercial facilities, or multifamily housing preferred * Experience in a limited-service, high-occupancy hotel environment strongly preferred   Required Skills/Abilities * Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance practices * Exceptional Ability to troubleshoot issues and perform minor to moderate repairs independently * Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment * Basic computer proficiency and ability to use maintenance tracking and hotel management systems * Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, equipment specifications, and safety procedures * Knowledge of OSHA standards and general workplace safety requirements * Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests, vendors, and team members * Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and attention to detail * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team-oriented environment Schedule The work schedule is based on the demands of the business you must be available days, nights, weekends, and/or holiday availability are required. Physical, Mental and Environmental & Technical Demands Fast-paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and twist in the work area. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 250lbs. often for extended periods. Must be able to maneuver around property. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and copier.
