City : Emporia State : Kansas (US-KS) Country : United States (US) Requisition Number : 46005    A Day in the Life: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance repairs in a soybean processing facility. They perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment in the plant.     Position Details: Day shift, M-F, ability to work overtime and on-call as needed Pay: $31.33 an hour     What You’ll Be Doing: Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facility Rebuild, repair, and replace damaged, defective, or worn parts Perform mechanical tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust as needed Use a variety of hand and power tools, and material handling equipment Perform welding including light fabrication of spouts, transitions, etc. from sheet metal including all positions (Stick, MIG and TIG) Complete emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situation to proper supervision Rebuild pumps and gearboxes Inspect for conformity to industry standards or specifications Maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees Participate in Bunge’s Employee Safety Involvement Plan Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area Other duties as assigned     Minimum Qualifications: General troubleshooting and maintenance skills Welding experience (stick and MIG) Knowledge of bearing installation and clearance setting Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment Good written and verbal communications skills Must be proficient in reading, speaking, and writing English     Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Experience with SAP maintenance software Experience with PLC and HVAC     Benefits:  Health Benefits – Offering choices so you can enroll in medical, dental and vision plans that meet your individual needs.  401(k) Retirement Plan – Investing in your future with an automatic 5% company contribution AND matching up to 4% of your contributions.  Family Support – Supporting new and growing families by providing 6 weeks of 100% paid parental leave and fertility coverage.  Tuition Reimbursement – after one year of service, eligible for tuition expenses reimbursement of up to $5000 per year.  Vacation time – We value work-life balance and offer a generous vacation program.
