  CALMRA serves adults, age 18 years or older, with cognitive disabilities in Prince George’s and Montgomery County, Maryland. Many of the individuals we serve also have physical disabilities. These individuals require 24-hour assistance in all areas of living; eating, bathing, dressing, transportation, etc. Individuals live with one or two housemates and receive support from trained, paid, and caring staff.  CALMRA also operates a Senior Center in Laurel, MD to provide day services to seniors or those with age-related disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and/or physical disabilities. CALMRA operates 16 homes located in Prince George's and Montgomery Counties as well as a Senior Center and Administrative Offices in Laurel, MD.  This position is responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs on all of the CALMRA-owned properties in coordination with the Maintenance Supervisor.  Position Title:     Part time Maintenance Worker  Supervised by:     Maintenance Supervisor  Minimum Qualifications:      High School Diploma, Driver’s License, and at least 5 years general                 maintenance experience. Repair Certifications/ Contractor License may                 substitute for experience. Have the ability to work with people.   Hours:  20 hours per week - generally Monday thru Friday - however; emergencies may require occasional time on the weekend.  Examples of Work / Responsibilities:  1. Monitor all submitted work requests.  Work with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure jobs are prioritized and completed.         Paint interior/exterior of homes as needed.    3. Repair and maintain the following system:  Plumbing, heating and cooling     4. Repair / Coordinate repairs for:  Major and Minor Appliances, furniture   5. Other areas of work:  * Drywall  * Carpentry  * Siding  * Gutter Cleaning  * Flooring  * Outdoor Shrub Maintenance  * Snow removal at main office and homes as needed    6. Other duties as assigned/general house maintenance issues.   
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all CALMRA-owned properties, coordinating tasks with the Maintenance Supervisor. Responsibilities include monitoring work requests, painting, and maintaining various building systems like plumbing, HVAC, and appliances.
