Description

The Employee shall be responsible for day-to-day interior labourer for carpenters. The Employee reports to Red Sands Properties Inc.’s Maintenance Supervisor.
Job Title: Maintenance Carpenter
Hours: Full time Monday-to-Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm, some weekends and evenings, as required
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: $20-$25/hour, based on experience, plus overtime opportunities
Job type: Permanent with 3-month probation period
Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation or 4% vacation pay
Location: Summerside, PE

EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

· 3 years of relevant carpentry experience is required

REQUIREMENTS:

· Must have valid driver’s license
· Must have a reliable truck or van (will be paid mileage on all travel)
· Company vehicle to the right candidate
· Must provide a clean and current criminal record background check
· Having your own tools will be an asset

Responsibilities
  • Respond to maintenance requests and service calls in a timely manner
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as weatherproofing or gutter cleaning
  • Replace light fixtures, door hardware, and basic home components
  • Construct, repair, and install framing, trim, doors, windows, decks, fences, and flooring
  • Patch drywall, replace baseboards, and complete finishing work
  • Conduct regular inspections of units, common areas, and exterior structures
  • Identify and report any safety hazards, building code violations, or deferred maintenance
  • Assist with move-in/move-out inspections and ensure units meet standards
  • Support small-scale renovation projects (e.g., bathroom/kitchen refresh)
  • Paint, caulk, and complete finishing touches during tenant turnovers
  • Maintain and operate tools, ladders, and power equipment safely
  • Keep company vehicle and job site clean and organized
  • Provide updates to the property manager or maintenance coordinator
