Description INTRODUCTION The Maintenance Controller is responsible to the Lead Maintenance Controller for handling mechanical irregularities that may develop during the normal operating day. Maintenance Control (MC) will work with Maintenance, Planning and Dispatch to coordinate the scheduled workload for all maintenance bases. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Ensure that mechanical delays that may occur are handled in a safe and expeditious manner. MC will coordinate with dispatch and maintenance personnel and parts and/or manpower that may be required. 2. Maintain and control a Master Log of all deferred maintenance items (MELs and CDLs). MC will assign all item numbers for each aircraft and will keep Dispatch notified of any item which may affect the aircrafts’ ability to operate under certain conditions. MC will coordinate planning activities on parts and/or manpower requirements so DMIs may be scheduled for correction. 3. Responsible for completing Maintenance Delay and Cancellation Forms. 4. Provide tracking of parts and equipment while in transit to an AOG aircraft 5. Provide research assistance for specified internal departments. 6. Other duties as may be specifically assigned by the Lead Maintenance Controller. 7. Audit A/C paperwork as required. 8. Work with the field mechanics on troubleshooting. 9. Work with Planning on scheduled maintenance and swaps for maintenance by reviewing daily planning report and forecasts. 10. Track daily line and service checks for compliance. 11. Review previous shift log pages for discrepancies. 12. Perform other related duties as directed. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A&P license with experience in maintenance of same or similar aircraft used by Company. Must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written, have a valid driver’s license with insurable record through Empire’s policy. Must adhere to the Company’s FAA/DOT required Drug and Alcohol Program. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed primarily in an office environment with travel required. Will be exposed to noise and hazards associated with a hangar. Requires standing, walking, sitting, bending and stooping for extended periods of time. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing and hearing to conduct business. Pay & Benefits: Starting hourly base pay range (DOE): A&P Pay Scale Qualifying hourly pay Incentives: $3.00 Mx Control, $1.00 A & $1.00 P license Annual increases and additional incentives once qualified.
